Update...

So, we live in Surrey now... and not just Surrey, but a basement in Surrey. According to some, you can't sink much lower than that. It's really not that bad so far. We had a good move. Someone said, "Set yourself up for 10% losses and you'll be fine". So far, I think we're well below 10%, but every broken bowl and branch still takes its toll. It's also amazing to see how much stuff you really have when it's all packed into a 10X15X10 foot space.
In other news, I've had a few job leads. There's one is Saskatoon, which would make some people happy. There's one in Thunder Bay, which would make still others happy. And lo and behold, I even have a telephone interview with a place in Southern Ontario on Tuesday. If you read this before 7pm EST, then you could pray for me. I really want both me and my future church to know for certain that God wants me there.
And in baby news, our little girl is doing well. She's a month old tomorrow (wow, time flies). I don't know what I expected, but she certainly isn't anything like her brother so far. She sure is cute, and getting more alert and little personish all the time. Being a daddy is pretty sweet...

Farewell, North Vancouver

Tomorrow we are moving to Surrey. We lived here on the North Shore for just over 3 and a half years. That's most of our married life. We had two kids here. We made a lot of friends and memories along the way. I never pictured things ending like this, but then no one really does I suppose.
I'm looking forward to the change. It's nice to put things behind you and look to the future at a time like this. I suppose until I have a new job somewhere I'll still feel like I'm in limbo. It feels a little bit like pregnancy... not the big tummy part, just the waiting and expectation part. I know something's coming, just not when nor do I know the details of it. But I'm excited. I'm looking forward to the bigger and better things that God has for us.
Just a word to all of you Sutherlanders who might read this... we won't forget you. Many of the people at the church really mean a lot to us, and we're sad to have to go. But life moves on for us and for you. I suppose there comes a time when one must say good-bye and make a few new friends...

And then there were four...

if you haven't heard by now, we've had a little girl. She is so cute. Born on Feb 28th and just a little smaller than our son was. It's funny just how much you forget about the stages of childhood from one kid to the next. At times we've felt like bumbling first time parents, but we're starting to get the hang of it now... it's all coming back. Like using a second language you haven't spoken for a while.
On a different note, it's such a humbling thing to see how many people have reached out to us at this time. I know that there's no way I can repay these people for their kindness and their generosity, but I also know that at some levels that isn't my job. God will bless them through others, just as He has blessed us through them. And I know that He will use us to bless still others as well. But to those who have rallied around us, and prayed for and supported us, I say thanks...
