18 months, 25 weeks and a nice visit

Well, to start off with we had a nice visit in Thunder Bay. The drive wasn't too bad although it didn't go quite as planned. We left at 3am and expected the kids to stay sleeping, but they didn't. They stayed up for about 1 1/2 hours and then slept for 1 hour and then were up almost all of the rest of the day, which was 14 hours of travel. I think they had an hour nap in the middle, but the beginning was not what we expected. Thank goodness for dvd players though! I actually think it worked better to leave at 8pm in the evening and drive through the night(which we did last year one time). It's more tiring for us, but they get a better sleep overall and don't get so bored. Oh well. Besides that the traveling was fine. We made a couple of stops to let them play a bit and continued on our way.
We had a nice visit with D's family. The kids had fun with their grandparents It was also so nice to catch up with friends and D was even able to visit a few times one on one with some guys which was a huge blessing. It's too bad he couldn't do that more often with them. I am so thankful because I love getting together with the wives and the kids had fun playing with all of the kids. And there were quite a few!
D's brothers wedding was good. Big M was a ring bearer and did a really great job walking down the aisle. I was so proud of him it actually brought tears to my eyes. Him and the other boy walked together with the boys mom(who was the matron of honour).
So, now little M is 18 months old, it's hard to believe that this age has already come. She is such a little sweetheart and determined as ever. She's starting to say more words and I'm looking forward to the next few months when that will really pick up.
And now I am 25 weeks along in my pregnancy, which I think is 5 1/2 months. It's strange to think that I only have 3 full months left before the baby is here. I'm starting to look forward to it as I feel the baby more. I'm feeling pretty good and don't really have any aches and pains yet. I have one more meeting with a doctor before I am going to make my decision on who my doctor will be. Right now I think I have one that I would choose so we'll see what this next appointment is like.
Anyways, I should probably go. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are back in Saskatoon. It is so nice to be home and the kids are loving it so far too.

A Necessary Getaway

We went to Calgary this weekend from Friday to Monday and we had such a great time. We stayed in a hotel, which the kids loved and of course I loved because somebody made my bed and tidied up everyday for me. On Friday we made a lunch stop on the way and brought a kid baseball bat and balls and a soccer ball to play with. It made it a little bit more fun and they got to burn off some energy. When we got to Calgary, we got our room and then went to Peter's Drive-In. I thought it would be a good idea since it's a tourist stop. It was pretty good, but like a review said that I read, it wasn't the best. But it was fun. Later we went swimming. The kids had a great time. There were a bunch of other little kids their age swimming, so that made it fun too.
Saturday was great. We met some friends from North Van and hung out with them at the Calgary Zoo. It was a lot of fun and once again the kids loved it. Big M liked seeing his old friend, B, too. We spent from 10-5 at the zoo, so the kids and us and were quite exhausted by the end of the day. We went swimming again when we got back.
On Sunday we attended our friends son's baptism in Banff. It was neat to be a part of that special moment. It was really nice to see our friends again, since it had been almost a year. We walked around Banff for while, but it wasn't the same since the main street was totally ripped up. The stores were open, but even the sidewalks were in ruff shape. Again we went swimming one last time. Both the kids really liked swimming, but big M especially did. He was jumping and doing pretend cannon balls(I think that's the name), just like his daddy.
On Monday we went to a friends for brunch. We had a nice visit with her too. It's always so nice to catch up. Then we went shopping. I got a really nice pair of maternity jeans from the gap maternity, which I'm really excited to wear. And we got bunk beds for the kids from Ikea. Oh, wonderful Ikea. I wish it were closer.
Then we met some more friends for a very early supper. It was great to visit with them as well. It's too bad we can't do it more often. Then we were back on the road. It was so nice to get away on a little holiday. We spent most of the time by ourselves, even though it sounds like we saw lots of people. Big M didn't want to leave the hotel and pool. He kept asking to go back.
So, now we're home and next week we head off to TBay. We're looking forward to that. Not necessarily the drive, but the visit will be good.
