Forgot to Mention

Well, I believe I forgot to mention one very important thing. Our daughter started walking about 1 month ago. Well, really she took her first steps when she was 11 months (I think) and then on her birthday she took a bunch of steps and now she is basically fully walking. She even walks outside up hills and runs around a bit too. Yesterday her and our son were running after each other screaming. It was pretty cute. She has also become quite the copycat. She has to do and "say" everything he does and he has to do what she does. When she falls and gets hurt, he pretends the same. They both love to be tigers and then scream because a tiger is coming to get them. It's a common thing here and fun. So, I can't believe I forgot to mention the walking thing, but now you know.
Last night grandma came over to take care of the kids while we went to Care group. Both kids always love hanging out with grandma and don't even care when we leave now. It's nice. My mom has gotten our son into scrapbooking now. It's cool. They take pictures out of flyers and glue them into a paper scrapbook. He is very excited about this and always loves showing us. I guess he wanted his own scrapbook to play with.

Update Time

It's been awhile since I've updated this thing. Mostly because there really isn't anything too exciting going on. This past weekend was nice though. My husband's brother came over for the weekend. We had a nice time with him and the kids liked their uncle D. We also bought a small play set for outside which is fun. The kids were playing in that and in the mud. Our one entrance is so dirty because of all the mud out there. Somebody gave us a lawn mower so my husband bought some gas and tried it out. It eventually started and so then he continued to cut all of our grass. We picked up all of the garbage, I planted our tulip bulbs( which I think might have rotted, but we'll find out) and we got our yard looking fairly good. As good as it can get for this time of year. We have these big trees in front of our house that constantly blow tiny seeds all over the whole yard, front and back, and so that doesn't look so nice and there is not much that we can do about them. The kids love playing outside. I'm sure our son would spend most of his day out there if he had the choice.
Last night I met with the girls from our home group for a girls book study. We had a really good time and some good things were shared. I think God is really stirring things in each of us and it's neat to see. They are a really great group of girls.
Today I had a girl over from mom's group. We had such a nice time together. Among the chaos of kids we were able to visit a bit. I hope that we can continue to get to know each other.

Parks and water

We didn't do too much for Easter since my husband was on call the whole week/ weekend. So, the whole time we were just wondering when the calls would come in. On Sunday we finally made it to the local school park to play. Our son loved it. The only thing is that our yard wasn't muddy so we put on his normal shoes, but when we got to the park there was water everywhere. It was messy. So, now we know to put on rubber boots the next time we go. Our son also got a kite from his grandma A for Easter and so he was very excited to help fly it and even just to hold it as we walked there. It was fun to get out of the house for once. We discovered that near this park is a huge area of grass, so that will be fun to go to in the summer. There is also a man made lake in our area, near all of this, so it makes for a nice walk. At least we have something pretty around our home. But we will always miss N.V and the beauty of that city. It is such an incredible place, the beauty and lushness never ends.
For Easter we also got together with my family on Monday. That was nice. We had a good time together. We did an Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning at our home and then my parents did one for the kids at my sisters. It was all for the little ones, but it was still fun to watch them, especially our son, find things and get excited about it. We gave our kids a kid size shovel and rake for outside and of course, our son loves it. So him and I went outside the other day to play with them. It was lots of fun and he even helped me clean up the yard a bit too.
