Fog and Light

There's a really beautiful double rainbow outside my office window right now, I wish you could see it. It's been very foggy here all week, so today is a nice change. I went up one of the mountains above the fog on Tuesday, and it was really cool to be able to look for miles across a vast white ocean with a few mountaintop islands poking out. It was also warmer up there. Apparently a bunch of warm air got trapped above the fog and was keeping it from lifting. Just thought you'd like to know...

Poisoning our Children

Last Night, our son got his very first Happy Meal from McDonald's. We rarely go, but we caved in to the temptation whilst we were at Wal-Mart last night. He seemed to enjoy the 3 nuggets, fries and chocolate milk. The toy was about the lamest toy I've ever seen from McDonald's. Bummer. He didn't seem to mind so much, it was perfect for sucking on.
On a side note, my own experience with the Big Macness was actually pretty good. That was the least gross I've felt after going to McDonald's in recent memory. Although to be fair, recent memory is like 4 times in the last 3 years. I assume we'll go back sometime towards the end of next year, just to remind ourselves of why we don't go there...

Blessed...

We had over a dozen people help us move. Someone else made lunch for them all. Someone else offered us to stay in their hotel for a night whilst our place was being painted. Others helped us by giving us boxes and packing materials. A family dropped by with a frozen pizza on Sunday, just as I was thinking to myself, "wouldn't it be nice if someone out-of-the-blue invited us for supper?" We have seen how many people love us, and we most step back, take stock and say that we arel very blessed.
For all the helped us move, Thank-you.... thank-you very much...

Waaayyyy Paassstt Cuuurrfeewww

If you notice the time stamp, it's not a mistake. Currently it is 4 am. I'm at a youth all night event. We ran the talent show and the Floor Hockey Tournament. It's been lots of fun. I'm not even really that tired, surprisingly. I asked one of our youth if he wanted to say something on the blog. He said, "no". I guess that counts.

In other news, we are moved in now. Not unpacked or done, but in. The painters painted for us with our colours, but we sort of got in trouble. They didn't like our paint, and it took them too long, and we almost had to pay for them. EEEK! But I'll finish up what they didn't do in the next few days. No resting even when you stay up all night... or because you stay up all night I guess...
